This week’s theme: Grid Down, Power Up

Power is one of the most important aspects of modern civilization. How else can you travel, communicate, or even have clean water without power? The world needs electricity in order to function and while it may not be very glamorous, producing and protecting it is necessary. Unfortunately, there are threats that haven’t been given enough consideration.

Power grid is the term used to refer to the electrical power transmission and distribution systems that connect all consumers to a common source of electricity. The electric grid is usually divided into regions, and each region will have its own power company that owns and operates the physical grid infrastructure in that region. Find out more about the concerns as our special guest expert discusses his new documentary movie Grid Down, Power Up coming up this August.
