Weaving the Heart of Humanity into Your Business and Life

Weaving the Heart of Humanity into Your Business and Life

Heart of Humanity

Today we’re weaving the heart of humanity into your business and life! Leading from the inside out involves the ability to cultivate and expand the aspects of your own humanity as a leader. What is possible for your team, organization, clients, and community exponentially expands when you look at the impact you can make on something bigger than profit.

And oddly in the end, purpose driven companies find that the profits end up following.

I’d been researching and sharing the power of humanity in sales and business for years. And then when creating the compelling framework and signature program- The Elements of Adventure, it became the natural thread that ties it all together. Both a guiding light and a way to weave the individual elements into a balanced, holistic, and robust system for success.

To recap if you haven’t yet seen my other articles on the individual elements they include:

  • EARTH (purpose): Identify and communicate your Purpose. It’s the solid ground beneath your feet where every journey starts.
  • WATER (relationships): Nurture positive Relationships with your inner leader, your team, customers, and the world. These flowing connections bring those visions to life.
  • AIR (inspiration): Inspiration is the fresh gust of air that fuels your creativity, solutions, and new opportunities.
  • FIRE (action): Action is the fiery jump that moves you/your teams forward with laser-focused, productive results.

And now it’s time to see how you can infuse Humanity into every element to make a meaningful difference in the world!

Challenge

Many businesses prioritize profits over people, which leads to short-term gains at the expense of long-term sustainability, ethical conduct, and social responsibility.

AI and automation may help with cost-cutting, but they also pose challenges to making that human connection. When a business is undervaluing their people it hinders morale, stifles innovation, and halts customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Even when employees want remote work and flexible employment arrangements, it can create challenges in fostering a sense of community and shared values among employees if you don’t also bring them together for relationship driven experiences.

Leaders must be intentional in shifting the mindset and prioritizing a human-centric approach.

Choice

It’s in the numbers! Just two of the many stats out there on the subject:

  • According to a LinkedIn Global survey more than 90% of employees are willing to sacrifice a portion of their lifetime earnings for greater meaning and purpose at work.
  • And the Deloitte Global Millennial Survey says, 42% started or expanded a relationship with a business because their products or services were positively impacting the world.

Having a purpose driven company is more than just saying so in a slogan or mission statement. It’s DOING the actions to prove it. There are choices every day.

Clearly define and prioritize human-centric values within the organization. This includes a commitment to employee well-being, diversity and inclusion, ethical practices, and social responsibility. It extends beyond your team into your vendor relations, and service in the communities in which you live and work.

Encourage leaders to lead with empathy, transparent communication, and making decisions that consider the impact on employees, customers, and society. Invest in strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. This can involve creating a positive work environment, offering opportunities for professional growth, and recognizing and rewarding employees for their contributions.

Focus on understanding and meeting customer needs. Develop products and services that prioritize user experience, value customer feedback, and demonstrate empathy in customer interactions.

Change

The world is changing, and people are shifting to what’s really important. They want more connection, better service, and they want their purchases to make a difference. And they are willing to pay for it.

The reason I do what I do is that I believe in the Heart of Humanity. And I’ve come to realize that the fastest and best way to make the biggest impact is to give more leaders the skills to do what they best to make a difference in the world.

We’re in this together. From each individual interaction, to caring for the well-being of our people, to that bigger impact on our communities.
Companies who prioritize a human-centric approach in their values, decision-making processes, and day-to-day operations are the ones who will be driving change in the future of business.

Let The Elements of Adventure, tied together with the Heart of Humanity, help you differentiate your leadership, your team, and your company initiatives.
